Before I get into this, I just want to clear up that I have nothing against homosexuals and I am not one myself.I'm just curious as to why people are homosexual, the origin if you will. A question regarding ho********* (No phobia's or anything involved.)

According to natural selection, homosexuals are supposed to dissappear over time, if not remain in very small minorities.
Probably genetic pre-disposition for it, no one really chooses to be gay they are just born with it. Though different people might show it more easily/earlier or not show it at all (repressed homos).

You probably won't get your answers here. However, some people think it's genetic, including me partially, although I do think environmental factors could also contribute to it, but that's out of what little I have read.
There are plenty of homosexuals here in OT. Ask them.
No one knows the cause. Some believe it's genetic while other's think it has something to do with how the child is raised early in life. And then there are the people who are ignorant enough to think that people choose their sexuality.
I chose to be gay so I could be frowned upon by society and mocked by my peers.

There, that should clear up any falsehoods!

Even bissexuals will get naturally selected out over time. Species specialize for their ability to reproduce over time. The way it is like today is in response to the massive changes to our environment introduced in the last few centuries, which is relatively an extremely short period of time.
It's quite possible homosexuality can be caused by an unknown seqeuence of genes or one particular gene (see: [URL=http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Story?id=4529843%26page=1]Gay Gene[/URL]), an imbalance of hormones (again caused by gene's or the female body attacking the foreign intrusion that is a fetus), or perhaps it's psychological; in other words, nurture.

Yes well, that's what i'm doing considering this is an OT discussion.
The origin is highly debated. I believe that it is something to do with genetics. Also, wasn't there a study that said a homosexual's brain had a defect, which is what makes them gay I don't remember if it was true, but I remember it from around two years ago. Unless I'm imagining things.

I highly doubt it's a choice. I don't know who would choose to be ridiculed on by society.
