ATWA, Charles Manson, and System of a Down

I just listened to the song ATWA by System Of a Down and i heard it has something to do with Charles manson. So what's the connection between him and System of a Down?ATWA, Charles Manson, and System of a Down
While I don't know, I'm sure the song is probably just inspired by him. Wikipedia more than likely has all the info you need.ATWA, Charles Manson, and System of a Down
They both make repetitive music. Nah, I'm kidding, but SOAD do get repetitive, ultimately.

This is straight from the page on ATWA on Wikipedia.ATWA is an acronym for Air, Trees, Water, Animals and All The Way Alive. It was first termed by Charles Manson in the early 1970s. The name represents the life support system of the Earth. Charles Manson and his associates, most notably Lynette Fromme and Sandra Good, use the term to name the force of life and the opposition to that which destroys the ecological balance of the Earth. Sandra Good was imprisoned for 10 years for conspiracy to send threatening letters to corporate executives unless their corporations ceased polluting the environment. In 2001, Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian from the rock band System of a Down wrote a song for the album Toxicity called ATWA.
The song seems like its more about a depressed person. Maybe thats Charles Manson?
