Why do people become Scientologists?

I was just wondering. What compels people to join Scientology? Out of all the horrible stuff surrounding it, you'd think people wouldn't join. Doesn't it also constantly demand your money?If there are any scientologists here, then please explain to me why you are one. Why do people become Scientologists?
It's for people who don't really believe in God, but there is a place, rich people like themselves can get together and believe in something..Why do people become Scientologists?
Because Scientology, when it's first passed out to you, looks very appealing. You aren't given all the info on what Scientology actually is until you've been a member for years, so at the beginning you're given a pamphlet with all these nice little things about health and vitamins and that kind of stuff, and as years go by you're introduced to a little more of the cult until it's too late to go back.It's a cIassic cult tactic, just like how they separate people from family members who disagree with Scientology.
They're in a hurry to get rid of money.
i dunno. maybe having Tom Cruise as their savior appeals to them :o
Their wallets are on a strict diet.
